As every collector of airline rewards knows, nothing beats getting free miles and Christmas is a prime time to earn extra miles on you Christmas spend.
Both British Airways and Virgin Atlantic having shopping gateways that allows you to collect extra Avios or Flying Club miles when you buy goods. In addition, if you use your affiliated airline credit card to make you purchase, then you will also receive Avios or Flying Club miles from the credit card for the purchase. Can’t beat a double dip!
British Airways eStore list all the retailers you can receive Avios from by making purchases. A small example is shown below with the the festive season Avois shown in bold. To receive the Avios, you need to make the purchase through the retailer’s link on the eStore and be logged in to your Executive Club account. Virgin Atlantic Shop Away does not offer the same rate of reward as the BA eStore, which is disappointing giving they have an almost similar redemption value. However, if you are collecting Virgin Atlantic Flying Club miles, then the Shop Away store is for you. I do where possible, like to try the offers we discuss and made a purchase through the Virgin Atlantic Shop Away store for Apple products with my Virgin Atlantic Reward+ card …. my statement listed the addition retailer miles. The whole process was seamless, however, the Shop Away store is not as easy to find as I would have imagined.
